Passive income sounds good—like something only techies and finance bros discuss. Guess what, though? Passive income sources can be started by even lazy students—no judgement—we have all experienced it. Let's dissect the simplest approaches to earning money without always grinding.
One could sell notes or class resources.
Why not sell your neat PPTs or good notes if you write them? Share and earn using groups on different apps or college WhatsApp.
Pro tip: Present a bundle - Semester 1 full notes for ₹99. Using summaries, past year questions, or advice adds more value.
Affiliate marketing—easier than you would think
You do not need a sizable following. Just highlight items you now use—such as books, apps, or devices. Amazon, ZET, Jar, or even Flipkart have affiliate schemes.
Create a digital good.
Sluggish but imaginative? Create a basic PDF on Gumroad or Payhip, perhaps as a study tracker, resume template, or budget planner, and sell it.
Rent Objects
Have a tripod, DSLR, guitar, or bookwork? Charge juniors or batchmates rent from you.
Make SIP or high-interest digital FD investments.
Not income, but rather money that quietly increases with time. Start with barely 500/month and automate it.
In other words, it's about working smart rather than about working hard. You have alternatives even if you are a lazy genius.
